Congratulations to Milton Creamery, the maker's of Musser’s Artisan and Aged Private Stock cheeses for taking the 1st Place Blue Ribbon at the American Cheese Society cheese competition in Austin, Texas earlier this month. Their "Prairie Breeze" competed in the Cheddar category, Aged 12-24 Months. Over 1,300 cheeses were submitted for judging this year, so definite kudo's to the Musser’s cheesemakers and Milton Creamery.

Of course we've known about their fantastic cheese for some time, having worked with our friend Rufus from Milton Creamery in the Kansas City area putting his cheese in every retail location possible. The milk used for Prairie Delight cheese is produced on small, local, Amish farms in Iowa, where the cows are still milked by hand - it doesn't get much more artisan
than this.

It's this committment to traditional production which allowed Milton to be designated as one of the first Eco-World Family Farm products (an artisan heritage, social and eco-friendly standards program started in the Midwest) identifying their committment to artisan production which makes the product a remarkable success everywhere it's offered. We are very proud to carry and sell Milton Creamery.

You can access the full list of judging results by going to the American Cheese Society site (click the link to view .pdf of judging results). If you're in Kansas City or Iowa, look for it in your grocery store. Otherwise you'll find it soon online...details to come.
